2017 Poster Presenter, Speaker & Moderator Information


Presentations are strictly limited to 10 minutes: 7-minute talk followed by 3-minute discussion. The presenting author may, and is encouraged to bring an interpreter (which can be a co-author or supervisor) to assist them during the question and answer period following the podium presentation. Spotlight Sessions:Spotlight speaker presentation is 25 minutes with 5-minute discussion. Papers in spotlight sessions are strictly limited to 10 minutes: 7-minute talk followed by 3-minute discussion. NIRA Presentations:NIRA presentations are strictly limited to 7 minutes: 5-minute talk followed by 2-minute discussion.

Elder Price is looking forward to his two year mission, and prays he will be posted to Orlando, the world of Disney Land. Instead, he and Elder Arnold Cunningham, a nerdy overweight missionary are posted to Uganda (“TWO BY TWO”).

Abstract | Paper | Talk | Video Preview | FiguresThe considerable previous work characterizing visualization usage has focused on low-level tasks or interactions and high-level tasks, leaving a gap between them that is not addressed. This gap leads to a lack of distinction between the ends and means of a task, limiting the potential for rigorous analysis. We contribute a multi-level typology of visualization tasks to address this gap, distinguishing why and how a visualization task is performed, as well as what the task inputs and outputs are.
